Elegant Glass
Heisey Ridgeleigh
The Heisey Glass Co. started in the late 1800s.
They began making pressed glass in crystal (as in color). Color was not introduced
until the 1920s. Heisey is considered by many to be the premier glass maker.
The name Ridgeleigh refers to the shape. It was made from 1935 to the mid-1940s. It was
primarily made in crystal; however, some pieces can be found in yellow. It was made in a
complete line except there are no dinner size plates. The cocktail shaker and the pitchers
are some of the harder pieces to find.
