Depression Glass
Peacock and Wild Rose
Green
Peacock & Wild Rose was manufactured by Paden City
Glass in the mid-1930s. Like Cupid, also by Paden City, it is not easy to find.
It was primarily in pink and green but occasionally you will find pieces in light
blue, dark blue, black, red, amber and crystal. Peacock and Nora Bird, also by Paden
City are almost identical patterns. Therefore by combining the two it is possible to
complete a luncheon set as cups/saucers, lunch plates and creamers/sugars were made in the
Nora Bird. As with other Paden City etched patterns this one tends to be somewhat
pricey. The pitcher and the vases are the most difficult to find. However, the
pattern is so very pretty it makes it worthwhile. (We are sorry but we cannot email
photos of each and every piece of glass for sale. If you need to see a picture of an
item to know what it looks like we highly recommend The Collector's Encyclopedia of
Depression Glass by Gene Florence.)
