Number 3121 refers to the shape of the stem of this glassware.  It was produced by Cambridge and was used for a number of different etchings including Rosepoint and Wildflower.  This particular item is a compote or comport, whichever spelling you prefer.  It was used to hold candy, nuts, mints, etc.
