Depression Glass
Miss America Pink
Miss America is the pattern that looks very much like
Westmoreland's English Hobnail. Miss America was made by Hocking Glass from 1935 to
1938. It was made in a complete line in both crystal and pink. There are a
handful of pieces in a light green and you can find some pieces in ruby red, ice blue and
jadite. Remember the difference on plates and bowls, between Miss America and
English Hobnail, is the rays in the center. On Miss America they're all equal and
come out to the edge. On English Hobnail they're different lengths. The pink
can vary from a very very pale pink to a a dark pinkish amber. Generally the heavier
pieces such as pitchers and large bowls will be darker. (We are sorry but we cannot
email photos of each and every piece of glass for sale. If you need to see a picture
of an item to know what it looks like we highly recommend The Collector's Encyclopedia
of Depression Glass by Gene Florence.)
