Depression Glass
Madrid Green
Madrid was made by Federal Glass from 1932 to
1939. It was made in amber, pink, green, blue and some crystal. As you can see
the plates are square and most of the bowls have a rim and that squared appearance.
The exception is the 9-1/2" deep salad which has no rim and is just round.
Madrid was made in a complete line in the amber. Many of the pieces were also made
in green but it's far harder to find and sells quickly so when you see a piece don't pass
it up. The pitchers, the ashtray and the footed salt and pepper are the hardest
pieces to find in the green. (We are sorry but we cannot email photos of each and
every piece of glass for sale. If you need to see a picture of an item to know what
it looks like we highly recommend The Collector's Encyclopedia of Depression Glass
by Gene Florence.)
