Depression Glass
Madrid Blue
Madrid was made by Federal Glass from 1932 to
1939. it was made in amber, pink, green, blue and some crystal. As you can see
the plates are square and most of the bowls have a rim and that squared appearance.
The exception is the 9-1/2" deep salad which has no rim and is just round.
Madrid was made in a complete line in the amber. Most of the pieces were also made
in green and only a few in pink and blue. There are a number of pieces in the amber
that are difficult to find notably the ashtray, the gravy boat and underplate and the lazy
susan. Dinner plates are scarce as are the footed salt and pepper. The rest of
the pieces should not be a problem. (We are sorry but we cannot email photos of each
and every piece of glass for sale. If you need to see a picture of an item to know
what it looks like we highly recommend The Collector's Encyclopedia of Depression Glass
by Gene Florence.)
