Depression Glass
Lotus
Lotus was made by the Westmoreland Glass Company from 1921 to 1980.
Do NOT confuse Westmoreland's Lotus shape with Lotus Glass which is
listed under elegant glassware. Despite the fact that Westmoreland's
Lotus was made over a period of so many years, and well
on beyond the depression era, it is not that easily found. First of
all, it does not come in a full line and second, it was only made on and off
during those years. It's really more of an accessory pattern. It
comes in clear, satinized and cased colors. The satinized pieces look
frosted and the cased colors are one color on the outside and a different
color on the inside. The cased color pieces are the hardest to find.
It was made in amber, amethyst, black, blue, crystal, green, pink, red and
the list goes on. (We are sorry but we cannot email photos of each and
every piece of glass for sale. If you need to see a
picture of an item to know what it looks like we highly recommend The Collector's
Encyclopedia of Depression Glass by Gene Florence.)
