Hazel Atlas
Criss Cross Cobalt
Hazel Atlas Glass Company was created with the merger
of the Hazel Glass Company and the Atlas Glass and Metal Company, both of Washington, PA
in 1902. Hazel Atlas opened its headquarters in Wheeling, West Virginia. In
1929 they began to make colored glass. They made green, pink, topaz, cobalt blue,
black, crystal, white milk glass (wmg) and dark amethyst. Criss Cross was one of
their most popular lines and today is highly collectible. The piece on the far right
in the photo is Criss Cross. The company was taken over by Continental Can in 1956.
