Morgantown Glass
Golf Ball Green

Golf Ball is probably the most well known pattern of all the patterns made by Morgantown Glass Co.  It was made from the late 1920's to the early 1930's.   It is named for the round dimpled ball found on all the pieces.  It was made in many colors and all pieces will have crystal plus another color.  The colors made were Spanish red (a deep vivid red), Ritz blue (cobalt blue), Stiegel green (more blue than yellow in this green), 14K Topaz (golden amber), Anna Rose (pink), Old Amethyst, India Black, Venetian (Shamrock) green, Azure blue, Aquamarine, Peach, Caramel, Meadow green, Copen blue, Smoke, Light amethyst, Mission gold and milk.  The Spanish red, Ritz blue and Stiegel green are the most desired, and therefore most expensive, pieces.  The candy dish with the flat cover and golf ball knob is the hardest piece to find.  Please note that the goblet in the second row is called "Old English" due to the shape of the bowl.  The photos in the second row clearly show the difference between the "Golf Ball" goblet and tumbler.  The goblet has a plain round ball between the golf ball and the foot.  That plain round ball is not present in the tumbler.
