Depression Glass
Doric Green
Doric was made by the Jeannette Glass Company from
1935 to 1938. It is primarily found in green and pink but there are some pieces
made in delphite blue, ultramarine and yellow. It comes in a fairly complete line
with the tumblers in both green and pink being the hardest to find. There was a
cream soup bowl made in green and that's quite rare. Most of the pink pieces we see
are a true pink but occasionally you'll stumble across one that tends towards amber.
Shown below is a picture of the 2 different styles of Doric
tumblers. The tumbler on the left is the flat tumbler which is 4-1/2" tall.
The tumbler on the right is the footed tumbler which was made 4" tall and
5" tall. (We are sorry but we cannot email photos of each and every
piece of glass for sale. If you need to see a picture of an item to know what it
looks like we highly recommend The Collector's Encyclopedia of Depression Glass by
Gene Florence.)
