Depression Glass
Dogwood Pink

July 4, 2014

Hi Everyone,

As many of you know I shut down First Class Glass in order to get my life and the business in order. I had planned to reopen for business this spring. As you can see I didn't make it. I have realzied that I just don't have enough hours in the day to do everything I need to do. So I have decided to shut down First Class Glass permanently. That will be effective on August 31, 2014. In the meantime The website is open and I have placed sales on every item. The discounts range from 20% to 50% off the price as listed. There will be no additional discounts.

Please note, since I was unable to take a complete inventory there may be some items that are no longer available. I won't know that until I search for the items after you've placed an order. If I no longer have an item I will call or email immediately and let you know.

Thank you for your business and I wish you all long, healthy and happy lives.

Caren Reed

Dogwood, also known as Apple Blossom, also known as WildRose, was made by the MacBeth-Evans Glass Company from1929-1932.  It was made in pale pink, green, monax (a transparent white), cremax (an opaque very pale coffee color) and rarely in yellow.  The 11" cake plate is extremely rare and it's not easy to find the 12" oval platter or the pitcher that's shaped like the American Sweetheart pitchers.  The grill plates, they're divided in 3 sections - one large for the meat and 2 small for the vegetables - come with the pattern at just the edge or all over.   The heavy cream and sugar are footed and the thin ones are flat.  (We are sorry but we cannot email photos of each and every piece of glass for sale.  If you need to see a picture of an item to know what it looks like we highly recommend The Collector's Encyclopedia of Depression Glass by Gene Florence.)

To see other patterns and colors please click on the button "Depression Glass" to take you to a list of all patterns and colors currently in stock.
