Depression Glass
Della Robia
Della Robia, made by Westmoreland, can be one of the
prettiest patterns money can buy. The colors can be light or dark. On all the
pieces the pears are yellow/gold and the apples are red but on the light pieces the grapes
appear to be a pale blue while on the dark they are much more purple. The red and
yellow will also be lighter on the light. Don't confuse this with wear to the color,
it was simply made to be lighter. When there's wear you will see clear glass in
spots on the fruit. Della Robia was produced from the late 1920's to the
1940's. It came in a large variety pieces. Remember there are NO bananas in
this pattern. The one with bananas is NOT Della Robia. (We are sorry but we
cannot email photos of each and every piece of glass for sale. If you need to see a
picture of an item to know what it looks like we highly recommend The Collector's
Encyclopedia of Depression Glass by Gene Florence.)
