Children's Depression Glass
Little Hostess
The Little Hostess sets were made by Hazel Atlas in
the early 1950s. Although these sets are not technically Depression Glass most
collectors consider them to part and parcel of depression-era glass since they are
actually Moderntone Platonite (fired-on color). The sets came in a variety of colors
including pastes of blue, green, pink and yellow as well as bright colors such as
burgundy, bright pink, lemon yellow, rust, gold, turquoise, chartreuse, beige, aqua, black
and white. A standard set included the teapot, creamer, sugar, 4 plates and 4 cups
and saucers.
